For so many writers, writing comes from the depth of the heart. I may not know where your journey began or if it's yet to begin. But my journey started at age 10 after receiving a journal for my tenth birthday. My words accumulated into short stories, rhymes and journal entries.  Only when I was presented with a poetry slam event at 17. I began writing full-on. 

 

Through it all, one thing remains true; poetry can be very inviting, personable and sacred. Hence, our slogan is Poetry Starts Here, which refers to your heart, one of the deepest parts of your soul. Check out how others define poetry on our welcome page.

If there's one thing I've learnt. There is a person behind every poem, lyric or song ever written. And a backstory behind every person.
